Adrian Lewis Peterson, the best running back of the current football era was born on March 21, 1985. This texas born athlete came out of Oklahoma State in 2007 as 1st round 7th pick. Adrian Peterson was the first running back drafted that year. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and has been a Viking since. His jersey number is 28.
Adrian Peterson have many nicknames which all suit him well. "All Day", "A.D.", "A.P.", or "Purple Jesus" are his common nicknames. Last year he nearly broke Eric Dickerson's all-time rushing yards in a single season (2105 yards). He needed just 9 yards to break the record.

It's a shame to watch someone as talented as AP stuck with Minnesota. He's trapped in an offense where every team we play knows he is the only threat they need to worry about. At some point the coaching staff and management need to be fixed. They need to build the team around the young talent they've got.
ReplyDeleteFrom a management standpoint you've got to understand that you've got an amazing players who's career is being wasted on individual statistics. Football is the one sport that i can just sit down and watch regardless of who's playing. I just cant bring myself to watch a full Vikings game because the coaches have no idea how to call a game and watching is just one blunder after another. Here's hoping they learn something and make some changes.
I have always been a huge Adrian Peterson fan. For my whole life, I have been a die hard Vikings fan and Peterson definitely ranks up there as one of my favorite Vikings of all time. I have to agree with what Dustin wrote. It's a shame how we are wasting his prime here. We have to surround him with enough talent to win a Super Bowl, and we haven't exactly done that. We need a quarterback. Bill Musgrave relies way too much on Peterson. Yes, he is a great running back. But without a solidified quarterback to compliment our run game, our offense will struggle no matter how well Peterson is playing. I hope Peterson can win a Super Bowl as a Minnesota Viking, but unless we make some changes, that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
ReplyDeleteOkay, let me start off by saying that Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the league. Hands down, bar none. I think most of us can agree to this. However, I believe there is still hope for him to win with Minnesota. What has been a constant questioned position for the VIkings? Quarterback, and defensive back. Well, we have been slowly and surely addressing the defensive back situation with Harrison Smith and Xavier Rhodes. Josh Robinson seems to be a good fit for the nickel corner. The only questions are: Is Jamarca Sanford a good fit at safety, and is Chris Cook a good fit opposite Rhodes? Now to the quarterback situation. Ponder is not the answer, that much is for certain. Freeman was a impulse pick up, and Cassel isn't reliable. The 2014 draft holds a ton of talent for quarterbacks this year. Teddy Bridgewater is out of the question. I believe Jacksonville has him locked up. But with players like Marcus Mariota, Tajh Boyd, David Fales, Johnny Manziel, and Brett Hundley, there is hope that Minnesota can get a reliable quarterback. With players like Greg Jennings, Cordarrelle Patterson, Jerome Simpson, Kyle Rudolph, and of course, the savior Adrian Peterson, Minnesota's offense may have a chance within the next couple of years.
