“Ooh Kill Em” is the new saying and
dance craze. There always seems to be something that we think is cool and
become obsessive with. Why do people do this? Sometimes it’s because of the people
behind the dance, and other times it’s just becomes a universal trend. This
time it happens to be because of a specific person. A 6 year old cousin of
Maleek Taylor.
Maleek
Taylor is a star basketball player in the state of Georgia, and he had a lot of
followers on his vine account. It all started when he started to take vines (6
second videos) of his little cousin named Terio. Most people think having a
younger kid do something makes it funnier. In this case that it what happened.
Terio is known for his saying “Kill Em” and that dance he does with it.
This dance
and saying isn’t limited just to people who follow or have a vine. It’s
possible to have seen it if you don’t even know what it is. If you’re a sports
fan I’m sure you’ve seen it at least once. For example last Sunday Tavon Austin
of the St. Louis Rams scored three touchdowns, and on one of them he celebrated
in the end zone just how cousin Terio would. Justin Tucker, kicker of the
Baltimore Ravens hit a game winning field goal against the Cincinnati Bengals,
and used the same celebration. The last one I want to say was in the preseason
game of the Chicago Bulls. Derrick Rose of the Bulls made an off balance
acrobatic looking layup, and after making it the announcer said “Derrick Ooh
Kill Em.”
So how does
something like this become so popular? America very easily grabs a new trend,
and makes it something that many people do or talk about. The only question is
what the next trend is going to be.
Terio Killin Em
