2013 Country Music Awards

Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood
This years Country Music Awards were full of entertainment and excitement. They were hosted by the flawless Carrie Underwood and the extremely hilarious and talented Brad Paisley. These two are nothing but a complete comedy up on stage and put on a wonderful show for everyone. It’s no wonder why they’ve co-hosted for six years now, considering how much of a hit they are to the fans. Their first year together was in 2008 after a year of experimentation with having no host at the award show at all. Their best moments this year had to be making fun of Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, & Obama Care.

Luke Bryan w/his Wife at CMA Awards
Aside from the wonderful hosts, there were many more people involved in the CMA awards. Luke Bryan was the only artists that performed twice throughout the show. He performed his hit song That’s My Kinda Night to open the award show, and later he sang his newest song Drink A Beer. The song Drink A Beer is in memory of his brother and sister whom he lost in two different unexpected tragedies and it was a very emotional performance. When he sang That’s My Kinda Night, he did what he always does… dance. Let me just say, Luke Bryan is not a very good dancer. He does some type of hip thrusting, twerking mixture and looks like a fool. He kept it to a minimum during this performance and although I am a fan of his, I was very thankful. Other performers included Jason Aldean (my favorite artist), Carrie Underwood, The Band Perry, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, and many more. All the performances were undeniably excellent but some artists out-did others.

George Strait w/his award for Entertainer of the Year
A big surprise to viewers everywhere was who took home the entertainer of the year award. This is one of the best awards to receive and the man who won it was a deserving George Strait. He was running against Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift. No one seemed sad or upset that they didn’t win, but they all seemed extremely happy for their good friend. The award for male vocalist of the year went to Blake Shelton, and his lovely wife Miranda Lambert went home with the award for female vocalist of the year. The CMA awards this year were a great show, no doubt, and most of the country music artists got the awards that they deserved. Although, I would say Jason Aldean should have gone home with at least on of the three awards he was nominated for, but that’s just because he’s my favorite.

  1. I watched the CMA as well! I absolutely loved it. Everyone is so talented and everyone deserves an award if they could. It is so nice that everyone is happy for everyone else. No one gets salty or mad they didn't get it. All the performances were blown out of the water. My particular favorite was Eric Church:)
