What Does The Fox Say?

What does the fox say?
As I’m watching Dancing with the Stars, it’s the episode were they had to do group dances, one groups theme was “What does the fox say”. I heard of the song but never have listened to it before watching DWTS and I have to say I became obsessed. I probably replayed that video a hundred times. This song started as a YouTube sensation and is sung by two brothers, who are a comedic duo from Norway. If you haven’t heard this song before, you need too. It’s corky and probably the weirdest song you will ever hear, but it will make you laugh and sing along to it. I don’t know for sure why foreign songs (that nobody really understands) have become so popular in the United States, but it seems to be a growing trend. This seems to have all started with big sensation Psy and his song “Gangnam Style”, which became popular all over the world. It’s funny how we find these songs so fascinating and it makes me wonder how other countries view songs from the U.S and if they find them as amusing as we find theirs. I doubt it, but it's interesting to think about. Maybe they have weird American songs they listen to over and over again, like people did with Gangnam Style and now with The Fox Song.

  1. I still don't understand what that song is about at all but most songs that are hot out are the same way. The reason why this song catches more attention is because it's intentionally made to be about nothing. Catchy lines, funny music video, and youtube's viral disease can make any song "HOT" for a few weeks.

  2. I understand that we are interested in how creative other countries can be, but have we ever thought about the foxes themselves? These poor, majestic, and under-appreciated creatures are being made fun of and false information is being spread. They don't go "YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP" nor can we communicate by using "m-o-o-o-orse m-o-o-o-orse". Just listening to the majestic creatures soothing utterance can send me into a trance for hours. PETA should really get on this and stop the madness of people asking "what does the fox say?" If everyone wants to know, here is a sample of the tranquilizing cry from our quick, brown colored fox who occasionally jumps over lazy dogs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk1mAd77Hr4
