Two-Faced!

A girl shows the realism to her "Hyper-realistic mask"
With modern cosmetic technologies and plastic molding techniques, artists are capable of creating what are known as Hyper-realistic masks, capable of recreating faces down to facial hair color, to beauty marks. thorough out history, masks have been used for medical, occupational, athletic, fashion, entertainment, and even punitive. But in recent years, they have been used for crime.
People purchase these masks and commit crimes, and when the victims describe them, they are describing the mask, not the culprit. The new masks can represent different genders, nationalities, show scars, differ nose size and variation, or emphasize different features that police commonly use in composite sketches. This throws off the police, as they don't know if the person they are looking for to match the
sketch is even real. Several cases of this has been reported before, for example, a man robbed a gas station with a mask that resembled a fifty year old man of a different nationality as the culprit. Police were looking for a older gentleman, when the real thief was in his late twenties. These mask can lead to serious danger and crimes, should these masks be harder to obtain? Should we stop trying to create more realistic looking masks because of how realistic they've already become?

  1. Even if we were to find ways to prevent the production of making realistic masks or placing specific charges of using such masks, people will always find a way to commit crimes. When there's a hurdle, criminals tend to find ways to overcome that hurdle. It's kind of like evolution where criminals adapt. It's kind of scary thinking of it as that way as more criminals become more creative in what they do. If we do ban this, who knows what they will come up with next?

  2. I don't feel that we should make these masks harder to optain, because everyone who wants to purchase a mask is not going to commit a crime. Those who wish to pursue an identity other than their own should have this option of a mask instead of risky plastic surgery. My question is how this masks stay on because the woman in the first picture looks like she can remove hers. While the second mask of Mike Tyson looks like it would slip over the head.

  3. It is not a legal thing for the goverment to make someone stop make these masks. like the Victoria said not everyone who gets one will commit a crime. if that is the case then they should stop making holloween masks all together becasue some people use those to commit crimes too.
