I don't even know where to begin...
Toddlers and Tiaras is demining and disgusting. Its a complete exploitation of children. Some episodes you watch you see children who are as young as four months old! They cant walk or talk but yes, they are doing beauty pageants!
Parents who partake in putting their child through this are trying to live vicariously through their child. Its just so demining, are there any good lessons to be learned from these types of pageants? Many of the girls start so young and they have rooms filled with awards but have no idea when or where they got them. If the child cant remember are they to young? YES! These are CHILDREN not dolls!
Swimsuit contests for little girls are wrong. These girls are completely ignorant to what they are doing. Their bodies are immature and they are learning that showing off their bodies is ok.

Popular culture, especially in the United States had always had a motto..."Sex Sells". Well, this shouldn't be the case because shows like this one come out and show these little girls on national television half dressed and "fixed up". These little beautiful girls get a makeover to the point they aren't even recognizable. Teeth whitened, hair extensions, tanning, skimpy outfits, heels, and big hair, it tells them that that's what they have to do to be pretty. That's what the judges (society) wants.

I agree with this blog. This show does nothing but teach little girls at a early age that the way they look is important, when overall, it's not as important as the show makes it seem. These girls have their whole lives to compete for beauty, why start at age 5 or younger?
